Cannabis Use in New Zealand

Cannabis Use 2012/13: New Zealand Health Survey

Cannabis is the most commonly used illegal recreational drug in New Zealand. While most cannabis use does not result significant harms, some users misuse it. Cannabis Use 2012/13 presents the key findings from the New Zealand Health Survey about cannabis use in New Zealand, including patterns of use, drug-driving, harms from use, legal problems, and cutting down and seeking help. Information on the medicinal use of cannabis is also presented. This report is the first in a series publications exploring drug use and misuse in New Zealand.

The report is packed with valuable information that will support the development of policy and intersectoral decision making about the best way to prevent and reduce the harm from alcohol misuse. As such, this report will be of interest to government agencies and crown organisations, non-government agencies, researchers, the education sector, industry and the public.
